[Tasks](https://docs.sitesoft.com/tasks?hsLang=en) # Bulk Importing Tasks ## You can now bulk import Tasks from a CSV, XLS or XLXS file and assign each Task to the appropriate user(s)   **If you have more then 100 tasks you are importing, only the first 100 tasks will be imported.**   **If you have more then 100 tasks to import please split these into multiple files and import these separately**   To bulk import Tasks, you will need to first set up a CSV, XLS or XLXS  file with all of the Task names in one column. You can also include the Priority of the Task, the Due date and the relevant Time zone of each Task. Please note that these fields are **not compulsory**.   ![Task example sheet](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Task%20example%20sheet.webp?width=411&height=144&name=Task%20example%20sheet.webp)   Then once you have loaded up all of your Tasks download the file to your PC.   In the SiteConnect web portal, you will then go to **Tasks** in your main menu   ![Tasks side menu](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Tasks%20side%20menu.png?width=185&height=469&name=Tasks%20side%20menu.png)   This will bring up a list of all the created Tasks from your connected network. To import your Tasks click on the **Import Tasks** button at the top of this page   ![Import Tasks button](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Import%20Tasks%20button.jpg?width=688&name=Import%20Tasks%20button.jpg)   Then click on **Select a File**.  This will open up your browser where you can select the CSV, XLS or XLSX file you want to download.   ![Select a file](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Select%20a%20file.jpg?width=688&name=Select%20a%20file.jpg)   Once you have selected your file a sheet selector will appear at the bottom. Click this and select Sheet 1, then click **Confirm** to start importing.   ![Exel Sheets](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Exel%20Sheets.jpg?width=688&name=Exel%20Sheets.jpg)   If your file has multiple sheets, then you will need to select the correct Sheet that your Tasks are displayed on   This will then bring up the screen with all of your columns displayed. You will need to map each column to the appropriate dataset by clicking **Map Field** above each column and selecting the appropriate information set that each column relates to.   ![Mapping Fields](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Mapping%20Fields.jpg?width=688&name=Mapping%20Fields.jpg) You will get to choose from the following options when mapping your fields or you can click **Ignore** to dismiss that column entirely from the import   ![Field options](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Field%20options.jpg?width=166&name=Field%20options.jpg)   Once you have mapped your fields appropriately click **Save** down the bottom to continue.   **If you map more than one column to the same field, the data will be concatenated e.g. first name and last name columns will be combined into one field called contact person if you select contact person for both columns.**   ![Save mapped fields](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Save%20mapped%20fields.jpg?width=688&name=Save%20mapped%20fields.jpg) This will then bring up a screen whereby you can assign the Tasks either in Bulk or separately.   **If you have more then 100 tasks you are importing, only the first 100 tasks will be imported.**   **If you have more then 100 tasks to import please split these into multiple files and import them separately**   Use the top line to bulk assign all the Tasks you have imported to specific Sites & Users all at once.   ![Assigning the Tasks](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Assigning%20the%20Tasks.jpg?width=688&name=Assigning%20the%20Tasks.jpg)   Or you can use the individual tasks below this to assign each task individually to different Sites or Users respectively.   ![Assigning the Tasks-1](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Assigning%20the%20Tasks-1.jpg?width=688&name=Assigning%20the%20Tasks-1.jpg) To assign a Task to a specific Site, click on **Sites** for that Task (or all Tasks by using the top line) and then select the appropriate Site from the menu which appears.   ![Selecting Sites](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Selecting%20Sites.gif?width=688&name=Selecting%20Sites.gif)   And you can select specific Users, by clicking **Users** and then selecting them from the list which appears which will show all users in your connected network   ![Selecting Users](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Selecting%20Users.gif?width=688&name=Selecting%20Users.gif)   You can also choose to set a particular Task to be an individual task by toggling the **Individual** option ON (pink) for that Task.   ![Individual tasks](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Individual%20tasks.jpg?width=85&name=Individual%20tasks.jpg)   If Individual is ON (pink), this means that if you have assigned multiple users to this Task they will each get an individual task and all of them need to complete this separately.   If this option is OFF (grey) then if one of the assigned users completes the Task , it completes the task for all users who have been assigned the task, i.e. only one of the assignees needs to complete the task.   Once you are happy with your assignments, click **Save** down the bottom to complete your import and notify your assignees of the Tasks you have assigned them.   ![Save Tasks](https://docs.sitesoft.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20Import/Save%20Tasks.jpg?width=688&name=Save%20Tasks.jpg)   **PLEASE NOTE-** Various Import errors can occur if an item (in the Priority or Time zone columns) is misspelt/not entered correctly in the original file or not visible in one of the Tasks you are importing. Also if a Task has no assignees this can also occur. If a Task does not have anyone assigned to it you will receive a warning message and will be unable to Save your tasks.
