Can I restrict a role to specific sites?

No. Permissions in SiteConnect apply to every site in your account, so access can't be limited to one site or a group of sites.

Roles and permissions apply across the whole account. You can't limit a role, or any permission within it, to one site or a selection of sites.

Why a role can't be limited to one site

SiteConnect doesn't have site-specific versions of permissions.

That includes Sites: View, which lets someone open sites in the first place. Once an employee has Sites: View, they can open every site in your account on the web portal.

You can't narrow that access to particular site locations.

What Sites Permissions control

Permissions such as Sites: Incidents and Sites: Safety Observations control which parts of a site someone can work in, not which sites they have access to. For example, an employee with Sites: View and Sites: Incidents can open any site and work with the incidents recorded there.

If someone shouldn't access all sites

Roles and permissions can't restrict an employee to a single site. Employees can also see the full company site list in the Mobile App regardless of their RBAC roles.

If someone needs site-specific access, contractor access works differently.

Note

Contractor companies are managed on a site-by-site basis. If a contractor company isn't linked to a site, the employees linked to that contractor won't see the site in their site list on the Web Portal or Mobile App.

Next recommended step

If you're deciding how much access different people should have, plan your roles around the work they need to do.
